About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Must have license in hand prior to submission Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Telemetry experience Prior experience in a critical care environment Description: The unit has 20 beds with a varying number of staff. On day shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 8-10 registered nurses, 1-3 licensed nursing assistants, and a PRN sitter. On night shift, there is 1 charge nurse, 8-10 registered nurses, 1-3 licensed nursing assistants, and a PRN sitter. Patient ratios vary based on acuity, including ECMO 2:1, post-open-heart surgery 1:1, critical ICU patients 1:1, typical ICU assignment 1:2, and stepdown assignment 1:3-4. The equipment used includes IV pumps, telemetry monitors, hoyer/stand lifts, Impella, IABP, CRRT, bladder scanner, Bair hugger, rapid transfuser, Blanketrol, chest tubes, vein finder, sorin retransfuser, ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP. The EMR system in use is Sunrise. The patient population consists of mixed medical and surgical ICU cases. Typical procedures performed include pericardiocentesis with drains, thoracentesis, central line insertion, arterial line insertion, chest tube insertion, intubation, TEE cardioversion, TTE, and transvenous pacing wire insertion. Candidates should be organized yet easily adaptable. The unit requires every third weekend working with no on-call duties.
