Job specification

• Provide direct patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation of patients with mental health conditions.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and therapists, to ensure comprehensive and holistic care.
• Administer medications, monitor patient responses, and provide education to patients and their families about treatment plans and mental health conditions.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by monitoring patients' behaviors and ensuring compliance with unit protocols.
• Develop individualized care plans for patients and document all care provided in accordance with hospital policies.

Candidate requirements

• A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; an advanced degree in mental health nursing or a related field is preferred.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a mental health or psychiatric care setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) certification is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
