Medical DirectorNaphCare is hiring a Medical Director to join our team of medical professionals in the Limestone Correctional Facility in Harvest, AL.As a Correctional Medical Director, you will be responsible for ensuring all clinical needs are being met within the facility, while working alongside correctional officers and other medical professionals.ResponsibilitiesThe Medical Director is responsible for providing direct and indirect basic medical care to meet the physiological and emotional needs of the patients and ensuring quality care is provided to protect the rights, dignity, and health of our unique patient population. Responsibilities may include and not be limited to:Conducting rounds in the medical and infirmary unitsPerforming sick call visits, and managing chronic careResponding to and initiating care for medical emergenciesLeading efforts to evaluate the quality and effectiveness of healthcare servicesCoordinating, leading and participating in educational and training activitiesMay supervise Staff Physicians and other medical staffEnsuring compliance with State and Federal mandates and regulations, including court mandates and standardsCollaborating on with other medical professionals to ensure staff are responsive to patients' needsQualificationsExperience / Requirements / Qualifications / SkillsMedical degree (MD or DO)Valid license as a physician in the state where the facility is located in ALBe able to obtain BLS CPR Certification (AHA preferred)Possess a current DEA registrationCurrently certified in a Board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties in Family or Internal MedicineStrong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsExperience in general medicine, a strong knowledge of current medical principles and practices, and the ability to manage and direct medical teamKnowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standardsAbility to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issuesDisplay integrity, professionalism and be able to adhere to a Code of Conduct and comply with all facility(s) correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirementsMust pass the facility's criminal background check and drug screeningWhy Join NaphCare?NaphCare is one of the largest providers of healthcare services to correctional facilities throughout the US and we are growing.
