Surgical Technologist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in providing exceptional surgical services. The ideal candidate will assist in various surgical procedures and support the surgical team in delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are sterile and ready for use.
• Assist the surgical team during operations by passing instruments, suctioning, and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Monitor patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process.
• Collaborate with medical personnel to ensure efficient and effective surgical procedures.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical techniques and best practices.

Qualifications

• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with general, orthopedic, robotics, neuro, spine, urology, and ENT surgeries is preferred.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

The position requires a set schedule with the option for block scheduling. A total of approximately 120 hours of call is required per contract, self-scheduled between weekdays and weekends. One weekend shift is expected every six weeks, and holiday call availability is preferred but not mandatory.

Orientation and Training

New hires must attend a week of orientation and be available in-state during this period, even if initial training modules are conducted remotely.

Facilities and Environment

This position is located in Pennsylvania and serves multiple facilities within the region. The role involves working in an acute care setting, primarily in the operating room.

Dress Code

Scrubs will be provided, and adherence to the dress code is required.

Cancellation Policy

The facility reserves the right to cancel up to four shifts for assignments lasting 13 weeks, or three shifts for shorter assignments.

Charting System

The charting system used is EPIC.

Response Time for Call

The response time for call is 30 minutes, and there is a sleep room available for staff who need to stay on-site when on call.
