Job Title: Monitor Technician Location: RWJUH Somerset Department Name: Telemetry Services Req #: 0000249031 Status: Hourly Shift: Evening Pay Range: $21.29 - $26.71 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Monitoring Technician is responsible for on-going surveillance of patient cardiac monitors and provides RNs and/or clinicians with immediate notification of any changes in cardiac rhythms. The technician delivers telemetry to inpatient units and performs monitor connection/discharge, patient preparation, and teaching related to the monitor. Qualifications: High school graduate or equivalent BLS for Healthcare Provider certification required through American Heart Association. Preferred: Telemetry and/or successful completion of a cardiac dysrhythmia course preferred Scheduling Requirements: Evening Shift Part-Time Essential Functions: Observe the heart beats and interpret arrhythmias/heart readings from the monitors and look for any significant changes Report changes to nurse or physician Multitasking and prioritizing urgent situations is essential Other Duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
