Job Summary:
The Emergency Room nurse position is based in Santa Monica, California, at a beachside acute care hospital. This role involves providing comprehensive emergency care across diverse patient populations. The candidate will be involved in managing a wide range of urgent medical conditions in a fast-paced environment, contributing to patient stabilization and ongoing care.

Job Details:

• Position: Emergency Room Nurse
• Location: Santa Monica, CA
• Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum 36 hours per week
• Start Date: 08/17/2026
• Certifications: California state license, ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
• Experience Requirements: 2 years of experience; first-timers accepted
• Community Hospital Experience: Preferred
• Charing System Experience: Required (Epic)
• Patient Ratios: 4 patients per nurse during days and nights; 4 on weekends
• Float Requirements: Yes, float between units within the hospital is expected
• Additional Responsibilities: Managing patients with conditions such as acute psychosis, trauma, stroke, overdose, and more. Responsibilities include intubation, arterial line management, chest tube insertion, and other advanced emergency procedures.
• Other Qualifications: Experience in trauma level I or II, STEMI, and stroke-certified facilities preferred.
• Special Procedures/Equipment: Conscious sedation, intubation, neuro-interventions, among others.
• Travel and Compliance: Must disclose license and background hits upfront. Valid California license must be in hand.
• Additional Notes: Refusal to float between facilities may lead to termination. Candidates must provide references covering the last year (six months for CNAs).
