As a Packout/Moving Technician at CRS of Central Virginia, you will play a vital role in managing and handling the contents of homes affected by fire and water damage. Your responsibilities will include the careful organization, cleaning, deodorizing, and restoration of items, ensuring they are ready for storage and transport. Additionally, you may be responsible for pack-out technician tasks, making this role dynamic and multifaceted.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Management:
2. • Utilize inventory software to record and track inventory of both salvageable and non-salvageable items.
3. Packing Preparation:
4. • Prepare the packing area for the safe and efficient packing of contents in homes or businesses.
   • Carefully wrap small items and place them in appropriate boxes for transport.
   • Wrap larger items in moving blankets and bubble/shrink wrap to ensure their safe transportation.
5. Loading and Unloading:
6. • Load packed contents into a moving van.
   • Secure contents in the van to ensure their safety during transport.
   • Unload contents at our facility and store them appropriately.
7. Cleaning Technician Responsibilities (as needed):
8. • Maintain organization by box and item numbers during the cleaning process.
   • Clean and deodorize contents to remove any contamination.
   • Utilize an ozone room for the deodorization of items.
   • Repack cleaned contents in new boxes for storage and transportation.
   • Place contents in storage vaults/containers during reconstruction.

Qualifications:

• Must be physically capable of lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Clean driving record.
• Reliable transportation to and from the warehouse.
• Must have clearance to work in the United States.
• A clean background check and the ability to pass a drug test are required for compliance with our client's requirements.

Our customers mainly consist of home and business owners that have experienced some sort of disaster, i.e., fire water, storm, etc. Our role is to help preserve the customers personal belongings and memories in the form of documents, photos, antique furniture, etc. We inventory their items, carefully pack them, transport their contents to our climatized warehouse to be cleaned and/or stored, then returning their contents once the structural repairs have been completed.
