Rigger / Forklift Operator

North Austin Logistics company looking for riggers to start ASAP!


Responsible for safely preparing, securing, moving, loading, and unloading heavy equipment, machinery, and materials. Works with cranes, forklifts, hoists, rigging equipment, and other material-handling tools to ensure loads are transported safely and efficiently.


Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect and properly select chains, slings, straps, shackles, hooks, and other rigging equipment.
• Safely rig, lift, move, position, and secure heavy equipment and materials.
• Assist crane and forklift operators with load positioning and movement.
• Calculate or verify load weights, dimensions, balance, and lifting requirements.
• Secure equipment and materials for transportation to prevent shifting or damage.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, containers, and warehouse areas.
• Use hand signals and radios to communicate with crane operators and other team members.
• Follow OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures.
• Inspect rigging equipment before use and report damaged or unsafe equipment.
• Work outdoors and in various weather conditions when necessary.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in rigging, logistics, warehousing, construction, or heavy equipment handling preferred.
• Ability to safely lift and move heavy materials.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
