Formed as the advocacy arm of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Planned Parenthood Action Fund is a separate non-profit membership organization tax-exempt under section 501(c)(4). The Action Fund engages in educational, advocacy, and limited electoral activity, including grassroots organizing, legislative advocacy, and voter education in furtherance of the Planned Parenthood mission.Planned Parenthood Federation of America and Planned Parenthood Action Fund seek a dynamic and data-driven Senior Vice President of Development Data, Operations, and Technology (SVP). As a core member of Development’s Senior Leadership team, the SVP reports to Chief Development Officer (CDO) Leora Hanser in the Development division of PPFA. This role is the backbone of Planned Parenthood’s philanthropic efforts, ensuring that the infrastructure supporting PPFA’s fundraising is robust, efficient, scalable, and best-in-class. The SVP provides the strategic roadmap for the foundational systems, data architecture, and insights that empower fundraising strategy and builds a cohesive development operations function in service of the National Office and Federation fundraising goals. The SVP is a newly created role reflecting the prioritization of development data, operations, and technology as a suite of strategic functions – above and beyond process alone – to drive decision-making and optimize fundraising. They have accountability for the following: development technology strategy, development data governance, CRM administration and optimization, fundraising analytics and business intelligence, prospect research and prospect management, revenue operations and gift processing, development reporting, development technology vendor strategy, and the development systems roadmap and investment priorities. The SVP leads a team of approximately 62 professionals. This leader will join Planned Parenthood as it reimagines its development program and consolidates operations and technology functions – once dispersed across multiple fundraising channels – within the National Office. Desired outcomes include improved data quality and governance, increased fundraising efficiency, improved reporting timeliness, reduced manual processing, increased fundraiser adoption of tools, improved donor retention and conversion insights, and strong service-level performance. The SVP is a key thought partner to the CDO in enhancing Planned Parenthood’s philanthropic impact, ensuring that data-informed strategies are leveraged for all fundraising channels.Planned Parenthood raised approximately $390M from all sources during FY26.Purpose:Provides strategic leadership for all the technical and data strategy functions that are foundational to the ability of PPFA multi-channel marketing and philanthropy functions to innovate, scale, and grow fundraising capabilities.Directs the creation of cutting-edge operational solutions and data-forward practices that position Development as a leader in operational excellence within and outside Planned Parenthood.Unifies all development technical and data operations functions into a cohesive, and high-impact division that scales with the organization’s ambitions.Provides data-strategy and analytics support to the Philanthropy and Federation Fundraising verticals, as well as the overall divisional strategy.In collaboration with the Philanthropy and Federation verticals, leads the enterprise-wide donor data strategy, ensuring that advanced analytics and business intelligence directly inform fundraising, resource allocation, and organizational growth.Establishes and maintains enterprise fundraising data governance policies, standards, and stewardship practices that ensure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance across PPFA and affiliate fundraising activities.Builds a culture of exceptional service delivery to fundraising strategists within the Federation and Philanthropy verticals, as well as to affiliate partners, to ensure the timely, accurate, and donor centric execution of fundraising campaigns and data operations at scale within the National office and across the Federation.As a member of the Senior Development Leadership Team (SDLT), the SVP influences strategic decisions across Development, in service of a unified Development strategy and models PPFA’s values in leading the division.Engagement:Partners with the COO, CFO, General Counsel, CIO, and other leaders to ensure concurrence with interdivisional priorities and operational effectiveness in fundraising technical and data practices.Serves as the primary point of contact and bridge between Development and key corporate functions, including Finance, Office of the General Counsel (OGC), and IT.Leads with deep empathy and a proven track record of modernizing fundraising operations for greater impact, and leading changes in business processes and workflow.Develops Federation-wide strategies, standards, and service models that support data sharing, reporting consistency, and technology enablement across independently governed affiliate organizations.The SVP must be an expert in internal partnership, working closely with peer vertical leaders to ensure that operational workflows empower fundraising success.Motivates and champions their team to explore innovative approaches to challenges experienced in the Philanthropy sector.Delivery:Drives strategic vision and direction for all fundraising technical and data operations functions.Leads the recruitment, development, and retention of a diverse team of professionals, fostering an environment of innovation, engagement, and sustained excellence.Partners with executive leadership to advance a culture that embraces change, fosters teamwork, and prioritizes belonging, ensuring the team is equipped to grow, innovate, and pivot.Leads the department through complex transitions, including system migrations, process re-engineering, and data-informed decision-making.Upholds and evolves technical and data operational standards within the division by ensuring accountability and consistent service delivery levels for internal and external stakeholders.Identifies and reduces workflow and technical bottlenecks in the donor lifecycle, from prospect research and gift intake to gifts acknowledgement and reporting.Leads the enterprise-wide donor data strategy.Leads an innovative approach to fundraising technology, with a focus on staying ahead of industry trends to ensure PPFA utilizes state-of-the-art tools for donor engagement; evaluates and deploys emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and automation solutions, to strengthen donor engagement, operational efficiency, and fundraising performance.Strategically direct departmental budgets and investments in technology, ensuring that resource allocation is directly tied to long-term revenue projections; responsible for technology contracts, vendor management, procurement strategy, software evaluation, and build-versus-buy decisions.Serves as a key voice in the National Office leadership, and contributes to the overall Development division strategy, in partnership with peers, by developing reporting and analytics resources that support fundraising strategy and inform revenue projections and resource allocation.Performs other duties as assigned.Candidate ProfilePPFA will consider a broad range of backgrounds.
