We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to support core accounting operations for a Contract position based in Compton, California. This role will contribute to accurate financial reporting, maintain strong ledger integrity, and assist with tax-related accounting activities. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of corporate accounting practices and can manage day-to-day financial tasks with accuracy and professionalism.

Responsibilities:
• Prepare and record journal entries to ensure financial transactions are captured accurately and on schedule.
• Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts, researching discrepancies and resolving issues in a timely manner.
• Support corporate tax activities, including assisting with tax reporting, documentation, and return preparation.
• Manage sales tax processes by reviewing taxable transactions, preparing filings, and maintaining compliance records.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures to help deliver complete and reliable financial statements.
• Review financial data for accuracy and completeness, identifying variances and escalating concerns when needed.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather accounting information and improve reporting efficiency.• Experience working in a Staff Accountant or similar accounting role.
• Knowledge of corporate tax principles and experience supporting corporate tax return preparation.
• Hands-on experience with sales tax reporting and compliance activities.
• Strong understanding of journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheet-based financial analysis.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with a detail-oriented approach to teamwork.
