Responsibilities: Receiving and giving written and oral reports to the off going or on-coming charge nurse and patient care personnel. She/he is responsible in communicating with physicians, residents, families, visitors, and professional staff members. Making assignments based on the needs of patients and the capabilities of patient care personnel. Administering medications and treatments prescribed by legally authorized persons within their scope of practice and training. Making rounds to assess the condition and needs of patients Accompanying physicians and other personnel as necessary. Evaluating the physical condition of the Acute Care unit. Keeping records and patient charts according to facility policy. Requirements: Consistently work cooperatively with patients, residents, residents' representatives, facility staff, physicians, consultants and ancillary service providers. Consistently supports compliance and the principles of responsibility by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and licenser requirements (as applicable), and Bear Lake Memorial Hospital’s policies and procedures. Excellent service and communication skills when interacting with employees, patients, and visitors. Must be kind and compassionate. Current ACLS and BLS required. Must be able to lift 50 pounds with assistance or appropriate mechanical lifts. May require extensive time standing and walking. Will require time sitting, writing/documenting. Will require bending, twisting, stooping and lifting. Must be able to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures. Must have good organizational skills.
