Job Title: Technician I Job Description

This role focuses on mechanical assembly, point-to-point electrical wiring, soldering, and wire harness assembly in a prototype and low-volume production environment. You will work directly from schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical prints, and detailed work instructions to build new products, perform box assembly and button-up, and carry out final testing within the electrical assembly department. The position is well suited to candidates with prior assembly experience in manufacturing, but individuals with minimal training who possess strong hands-on aptitude and a willingness to learn may also be considered.

• Perform mechanical assembly and point-to-point electrical wiring for prototype and low-volume production builds.
• Assemble, route, and secure wire harnesses, ensuring proper connections and neat, organized layouts.
• Carry out soldering tasks on electronic components and wiring in accordance with quality and safety standards.
• Complete box assembly, button-up, and final integration of electrical and mechanical components.
• Conduct final testing of assemblies and systems within the electrical assembly department, following defined procedures.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, mechanical prints, and detailed work instructions to guide assembly work.
• Use hand and power tools, including power screwdrivers, in daily assembly and fabrication tasks.
• Operate or assist with shop tools such as mills, lathes, and drill presses when needed for fabrication work.
• Inspect assemblies for quality, verify correct wiring and mechanical fit, and perform basic quality assurance checks.
• Troubleshoot electronics and assemblies to identify issues and support corrective actions where applicable.
• Apply basic computer and typing skills to document work, follow digital work instructions, and record test results.
• Use basic math skills to measure, verify dimensions, and ensure accurate assembly and fabrication.
• Collaborate with team members in a lab/production setting to meet build schedules and support new product development.

• Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in point-to-point electrical wiring and wire harness assembly.
• Ability to perform soldering on electronic components and wiring to a consistent quality standard.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, mechanical prints, or detailed work instructions.
• Experience using hand tools and power tools, including power screwdrivers, in an assembly setting.
• Basic computer and typing skills to navigate work instructions and record data.
• Basic math skills for measurement, verification, and simple calculations.
• Comfort working in an electrical assembly department with harness assembly, box assembly, button-up, and final testing responsibilities.

• Prior experience with inspection, testing, and quality assurance activities in an assembly or production environment.
• Experience troubleshooting electronics and electrical assemblies to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Familiarity with fabrication processes using shop tools such as mills, lathes, and drill presses.
• Prior experience in prototype builds, R&D labs, or low-volume manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to engineering consulting or product development settings where new product builds are common.

You will work in a standard lab and production environment that supports prototype builds, R&D activities, and low-volume manufacturing. The role involves frequent use of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment such as mills, lathes, and drill presses. Work is performed directly from schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical prints, and detailed digital or paper work instructions. The setting is fast paced and engineering driven, with close collaboration between assembly and development teams. Attire is typical for a lab and production environment, with practical clothing suitable for hands-on mechanical and electrical work and adherence to any required safety gear or protective equipment.

This is a Contract position based out of Camas, WA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Camas,WA.
