Registered Dietician

Duties:

• Conduct nutrition assessments, evaluate food-drug interactions, provide nutrition counseling and education
• recommend dietary modifications
• monitor patient progress
• maintain accurate documentation
• and collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.

Skills:

• Minimum one (1) year of Dietitian experience.
• Experience conducting nutritional assessments and providing patient education.
• Two (2) or more years of Dietitian experience. - preferred
• Experience in Acute Care, Women's Health, or Pediatric settings. - preferred
• Bilingual Spanish-speaking candidates preferred.
• Experience with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation. - preferred
• AHA BLS certification.Bilingual in Spanish, Experience Electronic Medical Record documentation. (EMR) - preferred

Education:

• Graduate from accredited college/university with a degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition
• Master's Degree. - preferred

Certification:

• For post-acute locations, requirements New York State Certification, issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED) as a "Dietitian-Nutritionist".
• For Acute locations: Registration by the Commissions on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as a Registered Dietitian Primary Source Verification - Required.
• AHA BLS. - preferred
• Special Note for Dietitians assigned to Post-Acute Care (Long-Term Care) facility: Under the Medicare and Medicaid Programs, Reform of Requirements for Long-Term Care Facilities, as outlined in Section 483.60 of Title 42 of the Code of Federal Regulations all newly-hired Dietitians, assigned to a Post-Acute Care (Long-Term Care) facility, are required to have New York State Certification, issued by the New York State Education Department (NYSED), as a "Dietitian-Nutritionist" at the time of hire.

Shift:

• Monday through Friday
• 9:00 AM 5:00 PM (1-hour lunch)
• Flexibility required, as 2 3 days per week may be scheduled from 10:30 AM 6:30 PM based on facility needs.
• 35 hours/weekly
• 5 days/week
