Staff Accountant | Personal Financial Administrator to the Founder Our family office supports the personal, business, and philanthropic affairs of our Founder and Chairman, along with a growing number of related entities. We're adding a second position to work directly alongside our long-tenured Founder's Accountant, who currently handles a full range of accounting and related personal/administrative functions for the Founder. As the number of entities under management has grown, so has the workload—this role will take on a meaningful share of both accounting and related administrative responsibilities , ensuring the Founder’s financial and entity matters continue to run smoothly, efficiently, and with the highest level of personal service. Note: This is an accounting-focused position with a meaningful, hands-on administrative and record-keeping component. The right candidate will be comfortable moving between accounting responsibilities and the related administrative tasks. This role suits someone who enjoys variety and takes pride in accurate financial work, as well as the organization, documentation, and recordkeeping that support it. Key Responsibilities Accounting (roughly half the role) Full-charge accounting across multiple personal and business entities (AP/AR, bank and credit card reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close) Processing and tracking transfers and disbursements across entities, including coordination with banks and custodians Preparing basic financial reports/statements for review by the Founder's Accountant and family office CFO Maintaining clean, audit-ready books and supporting documentation Assisting with information gathering for tax preparers and outside CPAs at year-end Administrative / Personal Support Filing, document management, and recordkeeping for both personal and business/entity matters Handling personal and business paperwork for the Founder — statements, contracts, entity documents, insurance and tax records Coordinating with banks, vendors, and outside advisors (attorneys, CPAs, insurance agents, etc.) on financial and administrative matters Supporting the Founder's dedicated Executive Assistant on tasks that intersect with accounting or entity recordkeeping General office support to keep entity files and financial recordkeeping organized and current General Serving as a trusted backup to the Founder's Accountant, with cross-training over time so either person can cover essential functions Adapting daily priorities based on what the Founder or the office needs that day — this role will not have a "typical day" Required Qualifications 3+ years of full-charge bookkeeping or staff accountant experience (multi-entity experience strongly preferred) Proficiency with accounting software Excellent organizational skills and follow-through with minimal supervision, including with paper and digital recordkeeping systems Exceptional discretion, integrity, trustworthiness, and sound judgment in handling confidential personal, financial, and family information Strong written and verbal communication skills Preferred Qualifications Prior experience in a family office, single-family entity, or personal accounting environment Familiarity with real estate entity accounting (ownership structures, distributions, basic lease-related transactions) Notary public certification (or willingness to obtain) A calm, approachable demeanor with exceptional attention to detail Success Factors The current Founder’s Accountant has built a strong foundation by combining sound accounting skills with exceptional organization, discretion, responsiveness, and personal service.
