Branch Service Manager

The client is a global manufacturer and supplier of industrial compressed air and vacuum systems, providing engineered equipment and service solutions to manufacturing and industrial customers. The organization focuses on helping customers maintain reliable plant operations while improving the efficiency and performance of their compressed-air systems. This Branch Service Manager will support the client's Eastern Virginia territory from the Fredericksburg, Virginia branch.

The Branch Service Manager will lead the branch's Service Department, including supervising Service Technicians, assigning and scheduling work, and managing departmental profitability. This person will also remain technically engaged, providing technicians and customers with support involving equipment installation, startup, preventive maintenance, service, and troubleshooting. Additional responsibilities include assisting with service and maintenance-agreement quotes, managing the parts department and inventory, and partnering with the sales organization to ensure equipment is properly designed and installed.

This position is particularly well aligned with experienced military maintenance and technical leaders who have combined hands-on equipment knowledge with responsibility for people, maintenance schedules, readiness, parts, and customer or operational requirements. Potential backgrounds could include Navy Chief Petty Officers and senior maintainers, Army maintenance supervisors and warrant officers, Air Force maintenance leaders, Marine Corps maintenance chiefs, and other experienced technical leaders. Candidates do not need to come directly from the compressed-air industry, but should bring strong mechanical/technical aptitude and experience leading personnel in an industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, or comparable technical environment.

This is a leadership position rather than a purely administrative service-management role. The successful candidate will need enough technical aptitude to help technicians work through field problems while simultaneously managing schedules, customer expectations, inventory, training, and department performance. The client requires a high school diploma and three years of supervisory/coordinator experience in an industrial environment; a college degree is preferred. Strong customer-service and multitasking abilities are important, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook. SAP experience is strongly preferred, and a clean driving record is required.

The position is based in Fredericksburg, Virginia, with a salary range of $85,000-$105,000 depending on experience.
