The Day Camp Specialist – Sports Focus leads engaging sports-based experiences for campers through skill-building activities, teamwork challenges, and game play. This role is responsible for creating and implementing a curriculum that promotes athletic skill development, sportsmanship, confidence, and fundamental game concepts in a fun and supportive camp environment. Sports camp offerings include, but are not limited to, basketball, soccer, volleyball, tumbling, dodgeball, etc.

Rate of pay : $16.00-$18.00. Final compensation is based on factors such as the skills, qualifications, and experience.

Essential Functions:

• Coordinate days activities
• Ability to solve problems
• Responsible for the setup of the playing field
• Enforce established rules for the sport and age divisions assigned
• Recognize and eliminate potential hazards from the playing area after and during games.
• Actively monitor program area to ensure safe use of facilities and equipment by all parties including participants, coaches, parents and guests.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to serve a diverse community.
• High School Diploma
• Minimum two seasons experience as a player or official for sports assigned.
• Knowledge of rules and protocols for sports assigned.
• Current CPR/AED/First Aid certifications or must be able to obtain within 30 days of hire

Preferred Qualifications:

• Multi-lingual skills
• Prior knowledge/experience in the game of basketball and or soccer.
