Job Description
Join Our Team as a Labor and Delivery RN!


- Shift Details:
- 12-Hour Night Shifts (7 PM - 7 AM)
- Weekends as needed
- First to float

- Unit Information:
- Department: Women's Services - Labor, Delivery, Recovery, Postpartum (LDRP)
- 6 L&D beds in a secure unit
- 1 dedicated OR suite for C-Sections
- Approximately 160 births per year (12-17 per month)
- Follows AWHONN guidelines for staffing ratios (2 RNs per shift)

- Required Certifications:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- STABLE
- AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced (to obtain)

- Experience and Skills:
- 2 years of LDRP experience preferred
- Strong recent labor experience required
- Comfort with high-risk and critical care patients
- Must manage laboring patients independently, especially during nights and weekends
- Newborn stabilization experience essential

- Additional Details:
- Titration of drips required (Mag, Pit, possible Insulin)
- Charge Nurse available on each shift
- OB/Neonatologist shared in-house coverage
- Anesthesia on-call after hours with a 30-minute response time
- Equipment: PRN nasal cannula and non-rebreathers
- Self-scheduling with core staff; equitable distribution of weekend and holiday requirements
- Dress code: Surgical scrubs; personal scrubs allowed unless in delivery

- Orientation:
- 1 facility day of orientation plus Epic training
- 2 shifts on the unit for department-specific orientation

- Important Note:
- Facility has a 50-mile radius rule; candidates must confirm permanent address for eligibility.
