Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor Full Time, Jersey City, NJ, US Salary: $77,000.00 Annually About the Role The Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor is responsible for leading maintenance systems, overseeing the continuous improvement of the process and executing long-term strategic plans. Observes mechanical equipment in operation to locate causes of trouble Schedule, trains, supervise and motivate employees for maintenance tasks Coordinate work performed by outside vendors Ensure efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates Prioritize the maintenance and repairs of company equipment and parts Control and monitor inventory Dismantles equipment to remove and replace defective parts Adjusts functional parts of equipment and control instruments Ensure that all equipment complies with OEMs and regulatory agencies operating standards Ensures proper equipment lubrication in compliance with OEMs lubrication schedule Follows preventive maintenance works order procedures Develop familiarity with and ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and community company policies and procedures as they pertain to facility operations and equipment usage and operation Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Job Qualifications High School diploma or general education degree (GED) Technical School Preferred Previous supervisory skills in a diverse, fast-paced manufacturing/production environment Excellent mechanical ability and strong analytical skills Demonstrated ability to follow procedures and work from a set of written instructions Basic computer skills Must speak and understand English; Spanish speaking is a plus One year minimum mechanical repair related experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and talk or hear. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
