Step into a rewarding role supporting 3rd grade students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract position designed for enthusiastic educators passionate about inclusive learning environments. This is a full-time role, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 4 pm, working with a dedicated classroom of 10 students through the end of the school year (concluding May 21). You’ll have the chance to utilize your expertise, collaborate with a supportive staff, and make an immediate difference in the lives of young learners.

Your experience managing an elementary caseload and adapting lessons for diverse needs will be vital as you work closely with students, fellow teachers, and families.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Valid certification in Special Education (appropriate for elementary level)
• Previous experience teaching special education in a school setting, preferably grades K-5
• Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and implementing IEPs
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment
• Comfortable collaborating with general education teachers, related service providers, and families

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver instruction in a 3rd grade special education classroom using the general education curriculum
• Adapt lessons and materials to accommodate diverse learning needs
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
• Partner with classroom staff and participate in IEP meetings
