Summary: The Specialist 1, Automotive Body Repair, will perform both semi-skilled and advanced skilled duties involving body repair and painting of automotive, bus, construction, maintenance and related equipment. Under general supervision, repairs damaged automotive and bus vehicle bodies. Responsibilities: Uses lower level Automotive Body Repair Specialist in the performance of both body repair and painting duties through the use of manual and machine tools, as well as associated equipment. Removes and replaces damaged fenders, doors, panels, windows, windshields, window regulators, door locks, etc. Cleans and prepares surfaces for painting, to include assisting in the mixing/blending of paints and finishing compounds to insure the accurate matching of colors. Maintains all required work order records related to project time, material costs as well as other records. Complete assigned work orders Maintain and update knowledge of service specialty Work under limited supervision. Insure that all equipment and associate supplies are utilized in a safe and efficient manner. Operate motor vehicles of varying types and sizes in the performance of assigned duties. Experience: Four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in automotive painting and body repair. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Possession of a valid Class B Commercial Driver's License with Passenger endorsement will be required.
