# Job Opportunity – Pediatric Medical/Surgical Nurse – Texas**Start Date:** August 17, 2026 **Location:** Houston, Texas **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Day or Night Shift available; 4:1 patient ratio; 4 weekend days every 4 weeks; no call required**Highlights:**- 14-22 bed pediatric medical/surgical unit with varied case mix including general surgery, orthopedics, neurology, and thoracic procedures- Typical procedures include cleft palate repair, appendectomy, chest tube management, lumbar punctures, and seizure management- Non-invasive cardiology only; no neurosurgery, stroke, or foreign body airway removal- EMR: Meditech- Collaborative, full-team environment where staff support one another- Floating limited to NICU Level 1 or 2 only- Royal blue scrub attire**Requirements:**- Current Texas RN license or eligibility- BLS certification (required)- PALS certification (required)- ACLS certification (preferred)- Pediatric medical/surgical experience preferred**Why It's a Great Opportunity:**This position offers the chance to work in a supportive, team-oriented pediatric environment where collaboration is valued and every team member pitches in to help.
