Open: August 21, 2026 — Closes: September 3, 2026 Summary You will serve as a Fish Biologist within the Department of the Interior, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 3, Ashland Fish & Wildlife Conservation Office, located in Ashland, Wisconsin. Salary Range: GS-11: $74,678 - $97,087 GS-12: $89,508 - $116,362 Major Duties At the full performance level (GS-12) the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Proposing, designing, and conducting studies or monitoring protocols to determine fish population status, trends, and problems in relation to office objectives and basin wide rehabilitation plans. Work with project leader and partners to identify priority projects, determine objectives and develop procedures for conducting studies. Preparing reports and presentations with findings, recommendations for changes, elimination, or improvement of operations. Evaluate results of fish management activities using standard and novel sampling methods and statistical analyses. Providing scientific and technical advice in fishery subject matter areas. Foster good working relations with other Fish and Wildlife Service units and with local, Tribal, State, and Federal partner agencies.
