Shipping And Receiving Specialist

The position will be responsible for handling all aspects of shipping and receiving operations, ensuring the timely and accurate movement of our berry products. This role requires a strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast paced, perishable goods environment.

• Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments of berries and related supplies against purchase orders and packing lists.
• Unload, unpack, and organize received goods in the appropriate storage locations, ensuring proper handling and storage conditions to maintain product quality.
• Prepare and process outgoing shipments of berries, including picking, packing, and labeling orders with care to prevent damage during transit.
• Generate and manage shipping documents such as bills of lading, packing lists, and invoices.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock checks to ensure adequate supply levels.
• Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.
• Ensure the warehouse is clean, organized, and compliant with safety and food handling regulations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
• Ability to operate shipping and inventory management software.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with shipping regulations and procedures

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is a plus.
• Proven experience in shipping and receiving or a similar warehouse role, preferably in the food or agriculture industry.
• Knowledge of proper food handling and storage practices is highly desirable.
• Forklift certification is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

Physical ability to lift and move packages, stand for extended periods, and work in various environmental conditions.

• Must be able to work in a freezer/cold environment
• Must be able to work long hours, this position offers lots of overtime
