Summary of Responsibilities: The Clinical Director is responsible for the therapeutic setting of all programs including individual and group counseling, client living quarters, organizational performance improvement, and program development.  Additional responsibilities include development and implementation of any new clinical areas and supervision of all client treatment processes, as well as ensuring Turning Point of Tampa meets all the standards of licensing governmental bodies, as well as accreditation standards.

Supervision and Coordination of Services: The Clinical Director provides supervision to all members of clinical team and provides direction to Nurse Manager, Admissions Director, Client Coordinator, Marketing Director, Human Resources, Information Management and Dietician. 

Abilities Required: Demonstrates work practices that exemplify Turning Point of Tampa of Tampa’s mission, philosophy, and code of ethics.  Follows policies and procedures and practices safe work habits.  Maintains confidentiality of all client and proprietary information.  Possesses the cognitive and emotional ability to deal effectively with multiple stressors, deadlines, and difficult situations and/or clients, referral sources, and outside agencies.  Interpersonal communication skills necessary for effective, nonjudgmental and empathetic interactions with subordinates and others.  Able to hear normal conversation/tones and meet the physical requirements of the position.  Must have good command of the English language and professional writing skills.  

Education and Experience:  Minimum Master’s Degree in Psychology or Social Work (or related field), and when required, has appropriate licensing/certification in good standing.  Experience may be substituted for professional degree if evaluated, approved and documented by the Governing Board.  Progressively responsible work history in positions in health care administration, preferable as Clinical Director or COO at psychiatric, medical/surgical, RTC, or partial hospital facility.  Ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years experience in health care administrator role and addiction.  Certification in CPR, First Aid, Control of Aggression, and HIV education within six months of hire.  Employee is expected to maintain knowledge, skills and abilities through ongoing education. 

Primary Contacts: Frequent interaction with coworkers, ancillary staff, clients and their support systems, and referral sources.  Periodic interaction with site visitors.  Frequent interface with regulatory and accrediting bodies.

Work Environment:  This is a full-time, salaried position. Working hours are Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and available via 24-hour on-call.  Additional work hours may be required in meeting demands of the position.  Must be in compliance with the drug-free workplace program.  Air conditioned and/or heated office setting, and/or outside conditions as required.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.  Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.  The employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, handle and feel objects, use telephone, talk and hear.  The employee is asked to reach with hands and arms, to stand, stoop, kneel, and crouch.  Must be able to stand, sit or walk during an eight-hour shift, possible more hours if needed.  Ability to move frequently is required in the delivery of client care.  Visual acuity is needed for accurate reading of client charts.  Ability to frequently lift/carry up to 20 lbs and occasional lifting and carrying of up to 100 lbs is required.  Ability to work in an environment with moderate to high noise levels, where chemicals may be used for cleaning, and where dust may be generated due to housekeeping tasks.  Ability to work at a rapid pace and tolerate a variety of repetitive tasks.
