Registered Nurse RN - Intermediate Care / Progressive Cardiac Care - Full Time Nights

Job Overview Job Category: Nursing – Registered Nurse Work Shift/Schedule: 12Hr Evening – Morning Northeast Georgia Health System is rooted in a foundation of improving the health of our communities. This role is a medical‑intermediate care and progressive cardiac care position located within a 24‑bed Medical IMC and PCCU unit. Unit Focus The unit cares for a variety of intermediate care medical patients and progressive cardiac care patients, including but not limited to general medical patients with more frequent monitoring, patients requiring advanced respiratory support such as BiPap, HiFlo Oxygen, Vapotherm, endocrine emergencies, gastroenterology needs, alcohol withdrawal with a CIWA score Services Provided Central Venous Pressure (CVP) Monitoring Removal of arterial and venous sheaths Chest tube care and management Arterial site management Epidural/PCA management Tracheostomy care Cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring Key Responsibilities Serve as a highly engaged partner on the care team, responding willingly to the needs of care team members. Adapt to change and demonstrate flexibility. Lead interdisciplinary rounds to facilitate appropriate care and smooth transitions across the continuum. Use the nursing process to address clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs of patients and families. Delegate care appropriately while retaining accountability for quality of care. Communicate clearly and effectively with all members of the healthcare team, including physicians and advanced practice providers. Incorporate evidence‑based practice and quality improvement initiatives. Support unit‑based shared governance and self‑care activities. Maintain competency in safety and error‑prevention tools and complete de‑escalation training certification as required. Qualifications Licensed to practice as an RN in Georgia. Associate’s Degree, ADN, or Diploma required. At least 1 year of RN experience or demonstrated competence in RNI performance expectations. BSN preferred. Experience in medical‑intermediate care or progressive cardiac care preferred. Basic computer skills necessary to operate unit computer systems.
