Initial placement within the salary range is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills, and experience. Summary: Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in a courteous and timely manner. Increase the revenue of the company by providing excellent service to customers. Sells and cashes winning pari-mutuel tickets for patrons. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Greets guests in a timely manner and obtains beverage and/or food orders. Initiates conversation with guests. Mix ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare beverages. Serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Ensure legal drinking age when unsure for alcoholic beverages. Know drink prices and proper measurement. Know information regarding all Food & Beverage Outlets to have ability to inform guests when they ask. Operate cash register: accept money from customers and count back appropriate change; process credit card purchases; count and balance money/credit card purchases, and comps against receipts in register before and after each shift. Sell pari-mutuel tickets to patrons via a hand-held device. Cash pari-mutuel tickets for patrons. Follow cash handling procedures. Order and requisition liquors and supplies. Prepare garnishments. Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display. Pre-bus station regularly. Assist with inventory and inventory control. Complete assigned opening and closing side work. Claim tips received according to laws governing wage reporting. Provides Red Carpet Service to every patron and employee. Must work well under pressure, and meet multiple and sometimes competing deadlines. Adhere to all corporate and local policies, procedures, and operating guidelines. Perform duties in a safe manner; report any potential safety hazards to management staff. May be required to answer questions when a manager is not available. Must at all times demonstrate ethical and cooperative behavior with guests, co-workers and leadership. Performs other duties as may be assigned by department and/or company management. Supervisory responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. High school diploma or G.E.D preferred. 2 to 3 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Must qualify for licensing with the New Mexico Racing Commission. Must qualify for certification through NMAST. Ability to read, write and speak English required. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills are required. Ability to work as part of a team and to promote cooperative approach between departments. Ability to work unsupervised. Strong knowledge of spirits, wine, champagne, mixed cocktails. Basic math skill is required, ability to handle cash and accurately make change. Maintain a professional, neat and well-groomed appearance adhering to company standards and work varied shifts, which will include weekends and holidays.
