Our nurses are integral members of multidisciplinary teams, coordinating highly specialized care while building lasting relationships with patients and families.As a Registered Nurse Navigator, you will play a vital role in managing the care of a complex patient population while collaborating with physicians, advanced practice providers, genetic specialists, researchers, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless, comprehensive care. The RN Navigator coordinates comprehensive, longitudinal care for patients with complex hematologic and genetic disorders. This role serves as the primary liaison between patients, families, physicians, specialty departments, infusion services, laboratories, and research teams to ensure exceptional continuity of care.Why Join Our Team?This position offers the opportunity to care for children with rare and complex blood disorders while participating in groundbreaking clinical research and advancing innovative therapies.You'll support a panel of approximately 230 patients in partnership with five physicians, serving as a trusted resource for patients, families, and healthcare providers throughout every stage of their care journey.In this role, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to nationally recognized research initiatives, including:The Shwachman-Diamond Syndrome RegistryDKC Gene Therapy Research CoordinationA new Quercetin Clinical StudyGenetic testing coordination and consultation across Cincinnati Children'sEvery day offers meaningful opportunities to improve outcomes for children living with rare diseases while helping shape the future of pediatric hematology through research and innovation.Key ResponsibilitiesCoordinate care for a complex panel of approximately 230 pediatric patients with hematologic and rare genetic disorders.Partner closely with five physicians to manage patient care across outpatient and inpatient settings.Coordinate annual multidisciplinary appointments across multiple specialty departments to ensure comprehensive patient evaluations.Manage pending bone marrow procedures, laboratory testing, diagnostic results, and follow-up recommendations.Review laboratory results, communicate findings with physicians, and ensure timely follow-up with patients and families.Coordinate ongoing care for patients receiving scheduled blood transfusions and other infusion therapies.Serve as a clinical resource for genetic testing questions from patients, families, and healthcare professionals throughout the organization.Support research initiatives, patient registries, and clinical trials, including the Shwachman-Diamond Registry, DKC gene therapy research, and Quercetin clinical studies.Monitor long-term surveillance and late-effects screening to promote optimal health outcomes.Respond to patient and family phone calls, providing clinical guidance, education, triage, and care coordination.Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver compassionate, evidence-based, family-centered care.QualificationsRequiredCurrent Registered Nurse license in the State of Ohio.Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) requiredMinimum of five years of professional nursing experience.Strong organizational, communication, critical thinking, and care coordination skills.Ability to independently manage a complex patient population while collaborating across multiple disciplines.PreferredPediatric hematology/oncology experience.Care management or nurse coordinator experience.Experience with genetic disorders, bone marrow failure syndromes, or clinical research.Certification in pediatric nursing, oncology, or care coordination.Why Cincinnati Children's?Working at Cincinnati Children's means joining one of the nation's leading pediatric healthcare organizations, where innovation, compassion, and teamwork drive everything we do.As a Magnet-designated organization, we are committed to nursing excellence and creating an environment where nurses can grow professionally while making a lasting impact on children's lives.Join Our TeamIf you're passionate about coordinating complex care, supporting groundbreaking research, and building meaningful relationships with patients and families, we'd love to hear from you.At Cincinnati Children's, together we make children's health better.
