Position Summary The Physician Assistant provides direct patient care in collaboration with ophthalmologists and the clinical care team. The position evaluates and manages patients, performs and supports procedures, provides patient education and follow-up care, and maintains accurate clinical documentation. Training and mentorship in ophthalmic care and procedures may be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Evaluate and manage patients, including obtaining histories, conducting examinations, and supporting diagnosis and treatment planning Perform ophthalmic procedures consistent with training, licensure, and scope of practice Assist physicians with in-office and surgical procedures as needed Provide patient education, counseling, and follow-up care Document patient care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record Review test results and coordinate appropriate follow-up under physician supervision Collaborate with physicians, technicians, and support staff to ensure continuity and quality of care Follow established clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements Support efficient patient flow and a positive patient experience Participate in training and professional development Perform other duties as assigned Knowledge Skills and Abilities Patient-centered approach to care Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Adaptability and willingness to learn ophthalmic care and procedures Professionalism and commitment to patient confidentiality Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with physicians and clinical staff Working Conditions and Physical Requirements Clinical office environment with regular patient interaction Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and computer use Ability to perform clinical examinations and procedures Ability to lift or assist with equipment and patients as required by the position Occasional travel between practice locations may be required Requirements:

Required Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program Current Physician Assistant certification Active California Physician Assistant license or eligibility to obtain licensure Current BLS certification or ability to obtain certification Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively in a collaborative clinical environment Ability to perform procedures within the approved scope of practice Preferred Qualifications Previous ophthalmology or specialty-care experience Experience assisting with clinical or surgical procedures Experience using electronic medical record systems
