Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager

Quality Truck Center & Just4Wheels Car, Truck & Van Rental
Egg Harbor City, NJ | Full-Time | Monday–Friday

$70,000–$80,000+ per year, based on experience

We are looking for an experienced, dependable Senior Bookkeeper / Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting functions for our established commercial truck dealership and vehicle rental businesses.

This is an important, hands-on position for someone who is highly organized, confident in QuickBooks Enterprise , understands accounting from beginning to end, and is comfortable taking ownership of the books.

The ideal candidate doesn't simply enter transactions — you understand the numbers, recognize when something doesn't look right, investigate discrepancies, and keep management informed about the financial position of the businesses.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate books and financial records
• Record sales, deposits and other income
• Enter and properly categorize expenses
• Review and reconcile credit card activity
• Maintain accurate general ledger accounts
• Research and correct discrepancies

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable

• Maintain current A/P and A/R
• Enter and manage vendor bills
• Track customer receivables and outstanding balances
• Coordinate vendor payments with management
• Resolve billing and payment discrepancies

Banking & Cash Flow

• Reconcile bank accounts monthly in QuickBooks Enterprise
• Record and reconcile transfers between accounts
• Investigate reconciliation discrepancies
• Prepare daily cash-flow reports
• Assist management in anticipating upcoming cash requirements

Payroll

• Review employee hours
• Enter and reconcile weekly payroll
• Maintain new-hire documentation, including W-4 and I-9 forms
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies

Taxes, Licensing & Compliance

• Prepare monthly and quarterly sales tax filings
• Maintain required business licenses and permits
• Assist with compliance requirements
• Coordinate with our outside accounting firm as needed

Business & Management Support

• Communicate directly with ownership regarding cash requirements, payments, accounting issues and financial questions
• Work with managers and staff regarding inventory, POS transactions, payouts and payroll
• Communicate with vendors regarding invoices, payments and pricing discrepancies
• Coordinate with insurance companies and agents
• Prepare tax-exempt certificates and related documentation
• Assist with inventory accounting and reconciliation

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience required
• Strong QuickBooks Enterprise experience required
• Solid understanding of A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, general ledger and payroll
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working directly with ownership, management, employees, vendors and outside accountants
• Experience with automotive, commercial vehicles, rental operations, dealerships or inventory-based businesses is a plus

8:00 AM–4:30 PM

Compensation & Benefits

$70,000–$80,000+ annually, negotiable based on experience
