Travel RN - Telemetry - Pediatric Stepdown

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric Stepdown position at a children's hospital in Illinois, requiring an active IL RN license and experience with vents, trach, and G‑tube care. Requirements Active IL RN license required in hand at time of consideration — Compact RN licenses are not accepted in Illinois (IL RN license can take up to 3 months to issue) Current certifications: BLS and PALS Minimum 2 years of RN experience required PICU experience preferred Experience with ventilators, tracheostomies, and G‑tubes required 1:4 patient ratio experience required Meditech EMR experience required Flu vaccine required; medical and religious exemptions accepted Responsibilities Pediatric Stepdown unit within a children's hospital inpatient setting Single 39‑bed unit covering all specialties, with 50‑60% of patients having some form of technology dependence Patient population ranges from 2 weeks to 18 years old with chronic illness; unit cares for patients with tracheostomies and chronic ventilators No drips, surgical, or transitional patients on this unit Patient ratio of 1:3-4 (1:4 ratio experience required) Charting system: Meditech (experience required) Schedule options: 3x12 or 4x12‑hour shifts; nights (19:00–07:00) Every other weekend required No on‑call requirements Floating within scope required to meet facility needs Block scheduling available 13‑week contract Provides care for pediatric patients with chronic illnesses and technology dependence, including those on chronic ventilators with tracheostomies Scrubs may be any color, neat and clean; pediatric‑themed scrubs are encouraged Free parking available in the facility's north and south lots (shared with the public, as the facility is located on a public park) Local candidates are welcome to apply at the same rate as travelers Pending IL RN license accepted for initial consideration, but an active license must be in hand prior to submission First‑time travelers are not eligible for this position Any requested time off must be approved and included in the contract prior to the start date; no RTO may be added after the contract begins Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non‑taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts Job ID: P-722539 Open Positions: 1 #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler
