Temporary Events Coordinator

Our client, a higher education institution, is seeking a Temporary Event Coordinator to join their campus events team for a 3+ month assignment with potential for permanent hire. This position pays $25/hour, is 35 hours per week (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM), and is based onsite in Waltham, MA, with the possibility of one remote day per week after training. The Event Coordinator will support the planning and execution of student, departmental, and large-scale university events while collaborating closely with campus stakeholders and operations teams. Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, and execute campus-wide events for student organizations, departments, and university leadership Support major institutional events including orientation, alumni programming, commencement, and presidential events Partner with campus departments and stakeholders to ensure successful event execution Provide guidance and consultation on event planning best practices Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail Assist with event logistics, scheduling, and operational coordination Qualifications Bachelor's degree required Junior to mid-level event planning or event management experience Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Google Workspace, and shared document platforms Exceptionally organized with strong attention to detail Experience with event reservation systems; knowledge of 25Live preferred Company Profile Founded by industry leaders to set a new standard in search, career placement and flexible staffing, we deliver coordinated staffing solutions with unparalleled service, a commitment to project completion and success and a passion for innovation, creativity and continuous improvement.
