Front Desk Associate - Part-Time (Syosset, NY)

Overview Front Desk Associate role at PM Pediatric Care: engage families to provide a welcoming, first‑class experience, carry out front desk functions, and manage administrative tasks for the medical team while aligning with the company’s mission, vision, values, and culture. Responsibilities Greets families professionally both in person and on the phone. Answers patient/family questions and seeks clarification when needed. Demonstrates empathy and active listening in difficult interpersonal situations. Supports patient care quality initiatives as directed. Coordinates escalations and urgent issues to ensure timely and complete resolutions. Collaborates with site leadership to manage complex patient issues. Employs PM Pediatric Care’s core values to help patients, families, and teammates navigate systems. Monitors and manages patient flow during waiting and registration, including assisting families with self‑registration. Maintains up‑to‑date knowledge of workflows, responsibilities, and technology. Registers all patients, maintains accurate patient accounts, obtains and updates demographics, insurance, and financial information while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Manages incoming patient documents, mail, and correspondence with proper documentation and storage. Maintains confidentiality and privacy of all patient accounts, adhering to HIPAA guidelines. Performs opening and closing duties (organizing, stocking, sanitizing, reconciling). Executes other duties as assigned. Qualifications Team player capable of working independently in a fast‑paced environment. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite. Flexible work schedule based on office needs; travel to another site within reason possible. Excellent customer service and telephone skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Professional and friendly demeanor. Quality focused and detail oriented. Proficient in basic calculations (receipts, cash drawer, change). Outstanding time management, organizational, and critical‑thinking skills. Superior situational awareness and ability to react to urgent situations. Prior experience in a healthcare environment and knowledge of medical insurance preferred. Socially perceptive, ability to relate to children and their families. Comfortable with routinely shifting demands. Proficient in navigating multiple computer systems. Prior front‑desk, concierge, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred. High school diploma or GED. Compensation Hourly rate: $18–$25 per hour. Compensation may vary based on experience and location.
