Ward Clerk - Emergency Dept

The Ward Clerk performs clinical and receptionist duties on assigned unit under the direct supervision of the Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse. He/she also promotes cooperation, a positive attitude and creates a safe environment for both patients and staff. The Ward Clerk is responsible for knowing and adhering to established hospital policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety. This is a temporary opportunity that may end at any time.

Job Duties & Essential Functions:

• Transcribes doctors' orders and accurately communicates this information to appropriate personnel.
• Maintains and updates patient records as delegated by the Nurse Manager, Charge Nurse or other Nursing leader.
• Performs clerical functions as needed.
• Assists with telephone calls and channels information to appropriate person.
• Other duties as deemed appropriate by Management.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• High School diploma
• Attention to detail
• Visual and auditory acuity

Primary Location: US-NY-East Hampton Department/Hiring Area: East Hampton Nursing

Schedule: Full-time

Shift: Variable Shift Hours: 9:00 AM5:00 PM with flexibility based on the needs of the department

Salary: $24.80 - $26.67 / Hour
