Position Summary:

Be part of our Same Day Surgery Center Team in Burnsville with occasional travel to other Same Day Surgery Center(s) as needed. We are looking for team members to support our growing services, with opportunities to provide patient care in our Surgery Center(s). We have a fast-paced multi-specialty Surgical Center. Our team is looking for candidates with a positive outlook and ability to work well on a team.

The Surgical Tech (CST) position practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity and caring.

This position would also be a shared role as an OR coordinator and collaborate with charge nurses, materials, sterile processing departments and outside vendors to ensure all elements needed have arrived for surgery. They will spend the other 40-60% of time in the operating room as a surgical technician. This surgical technician will be a resource mentor for new staff and will onboard and precept new staff in the operating room. They will be the subject matter expert on the instrumentation needs in the operating room as well as collaborate and coordinate in the sterile processing department. This individual must be a highly motivated and flexible.

• 1.0 FTE / Day Shift
• Variable/Flexible Start Times
• Variable Shift Lengths
• Rotating Late Shifts
• Occasional travel to alternate sites per rotation

Required Qualifications:

• Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs:
• CST at time of hire or obtain the certification within 12 months of hire.
• -or-
• NCCT at time of hire or obtain the certification within 36 months of hire.
• 2-3 years of Surgical tech experience required
• 2-3 years of Sterile processing experience.
• Practical knowledge of surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
• Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• SPD experience preferred - Cross training to Sterile Processing
• Currently validated CPR skills or BLS certification is preferred.
