BARISTA

Barista Position

The Barista is responsible for providing customers with prompt service, quality beverages and products, and maintaining a clean and comfortable café environment.

Major Job Duties:

1. Preparing and serving hot and cold drinks, coffees, and specialty beverages by adhering to all recipe and presentation standards. Follows health, safety and sanitation guidelines for all products.
2. Cleaning and sanitizing work areas, maintaining front of house equipment based on health code.
3. Excellent customer service including: describing menu items, suggesting products, taking orders, and helping customers in all areas of the dining room.
4. Responsible for handling cash and utilizing POS system.
5. Complete other duties as assigned by the Café Manager and Manager on shift.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma.
• Previous work experience as a Barista or Waiter/Waitress a plus.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check if required.

• Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to HWRC policies and procedures, adhere strictly to confidentiality requirements.
• Adhere to established standards of hygiene and universal infection control procedures in handling all food and supplies.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Understanding of hand washing and hygiene techniques.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with guests and co-workers.
