Job Description:Position Summary:To serve as the initial response to all safety and security related issues, ensuring the health and wellbeing of the residents of the community. To facilitate communication as needed among residents, staff, visitors and other guests in an accurate, friendly, and professional manner.Core Competencies:Excellent customer service skillsExhibits a professional demeanor and willingness to assist residents and other staff membersMust demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively with all staff and residentsShows initiative in maintaining and developing job skillsExcellent problem solving skillsMaintains confidentiality and privacy of the residentsUses good judgment and patience during emergencies and stressful situationsMaintain a genuine interest in geriatric care and believe in and uphold the philosophy of the facilityPosition Responsibilities:Greet residents and guestsAnswers all incoming calls to the front desk and relays the calls to the appropriate party courteously and efficientlyUses alarm panel to respond to residents assists/smoke alarms in emergency situations and communicates the situations to administration also communicates any unusual events, missing items, or alleged theftsCoordinates all emergency response efforts, including directing emergency vehicles to the SNF and EL, as well as the ILProvide Resident Information Forms. DNR information (from binders) and E-Clinical information (from computer) to paramedics and medical transport companies, as well as internal medical and emergency respondersUses two way radio to communicate with various nursing, maintenance and administration staffUses computer for E-Clinical information and various administration duties received by residents and other staffLog keys in and outAccount for residents using the daily census and flipper sheetsHandle maintenance and housekeeping requestsLog in packages and notify residentsUpdate the daily resident censusKeep front desk area clean and organizedApply postage and transmit fax messages for staff and residentsAssist residents with proper procedure for sending out dry cleaningAnticipates and meets the needs of the residentsSchedule resident IT appointments & submit monthly log to EDReserve conference rooms using Microsoft Outlook and perform other clerical duties as assignedQualifications:Good communication skillsBasic knowledge of computers and other small office equipmentPrevious concierge/receptionist experience preferred.
