About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Pre-Sales Consultant with a strong background in FinOps (Cloud Financial Management). The role helps clients optimise cloud investment, strengthen financial accountability, and implement effective cost-management practices across multi-cloud environments.

Role Purpose: Lead client discovery and solution design for FinOps opportunities, support proposals and bids, and enable a clear transition from sales to delivery. Knowledge of FinOps Services support role by strengthening cloud, licensing, governance, and spend-optimisation conversations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Client Advisory

  • Assess complex business situations to identify FinOps opportunities, challenges, and improvement requirements.
  • Facilitate stakeholder workshops to gather requirements, define desired outcomes, and agree improvement priorities.
  • Advise clients on cloud cost optimisation, financial governance, budgeting, and multi-cloud financial management.
  • Analyse cloud spends, identify trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by providing regular updates, practical insights, and consistent stakeholder communication.

  Solution and Bid Development

  • Design tailored FinOps solutions and develop ROI/TCO analyses, business cases, solution summaries, and proposals.
  • Create and deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept, and workshops that show how proposed solutions address client needs.
  • Prepare responses to Requests for Information and Requests for Proposal, including technical, compliance, and benefits content.
  • Maintain proposal templates, bid trackers, and content libraries in line with company standards.

  Stakeholder Engagement and Enablement

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to shape and deliver solutions.
  • Develop and lead training sessions and workshops on FinOps principles, practices, and tools.
  • Create presales and sales-enablement materials that communicate Software Lifecycle Services differentiators and competitive value.
  • Apply working knowledge of software licensing, SaaS subscription management, lifecycle governance, audit preparation, and software spend optimisation in client discussions.

  Sales-to-Delivery Transition

  • Lead FinOps engagements through assessment, solution definition, implementation planning, and ongoing management.
  • Coordinate a structured handover of awarded projects to delivery teams, ensuring scope, assumptions, commitments, and expected outcomes are clearly documented.

What we’re looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• At least five years of experience in consulting, FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud financial analysis, or a related role.
• Strong understanding of AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud pricing and commercial models.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to translate technical and financial data into clear recommendations, business cases, and client-ready materials.

  Preferred

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or another relevant cloud financial management certification.
  • Experience with leading FinOps platforms, such as IBM Cloudability or Flexera Cloud Cost Optimisation.
  • Working knowledge of ITAM, software licensing, SaaS subscription management, and related governance practices.
