Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining the delivery of quality care by ensuring the nursing care plan is followed. This role includes supervising Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants while promoting a safe environment for both patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Perform nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to formulate an individualized plan of care.
• Identify teaching needs and goals in collaboration with patients/families and the Interdisciplinary team.
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the medical record.
• Participate in patient rehabilitation programs and provide direct patient care using the nursing process.
• Initiate discharge planning and patient teaching on the day of admission.
• Communicate changes in patient status to appropriate care team members for continuity of care.
• Provide direction and supervision to auxiliary nursing staff.
• Contribute to a positive and efficient work environment.
• Maintain communication with management regarding service needs and clinical training.
• Assume charge responsibilities as requested after the orientation period.
• Pursue professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS Certification required prior to first shift (specific to certain locations).
• Minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
