Commercial Loan Officer

Relate Search has partnered with one of Montana's premier community banks in its search for a Commercial Loan Officer. This position is responsible for developing and managing commercial and agricultural lending relationships while delivering exceptional customer service and sound credit decisions. The Commercial Loan Officer will serve as a trusted advisor to business owners, agricultural operators, and community leaders by analyzing credit opportunities, growing a strong loan portfolio, and expanding business relationships throughout the market.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage commercial, agricultural, and select consumer lending relationships while providing exceptional customer service.
• Analyze credit requests, evaluate collateral, structure loan packages, and make sound lending recommendations.
• Process, service, and manage commercial and agricultural loan portfolios in accordance with bank policies and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct field inspections and business visits to evaluate collateral, operations, and overall borrower financial health.
• Generate new business through community involvement, referral development, and proactive business development efforts.
• Expand existing client relationships while identifying opportunities to cross-sell additional banking products and financial services.
• Monitor loan performance and assist with collections, loan servicing, and portfolio management activities as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of SBA, FSA/FMHA, and other government lending programs to best serve customers.
• Ensure compliance with all banking regulations, internal policies, and lending procedures.
• Represent the bank throughout the community by participating in local organizations, networking events, and business development activities.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Agricultural Business, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of commercial lending experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, loan structuring, collateral evaluation, and relationship management.
• Proven business development skills with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with customers and internal partners.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
