Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital (CAH), specializing in MedSurg and Progressive Care Unit (PCU). The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to work in various departments as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assess and address the educational needs of patients and their significant others, providing comprehensive education through appropriate modalities.
• Prioritize patient safety by implementing preventative measures, including the correct use of side rails, restraints, and equipment.
• Demonstrate proficiency in the operation of all equipment in the PCU, Telemetry, and MedSurg areas, along with knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and repair procedures.
• Execute infection control and isolation protocols efficiently, ensuring proper documentation.
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient status, nursing interventions, and patient responses during assigned shifts.
• Accurately document charges and complete physician orders in a timely manner.
• Conduct a thorough 24-hour check of orders within the scope of the assigned shift duties, ensuring continuity of care.
• Deliver comprehensive and precise change of shift reports to oncoming staff members.
• Facilitate effective communication with other departments, ensuring all interactions are timely and accurate.
• Report critical lab values to physicians promptly, following established policies.
• Maintain and restock emergency carts, rooms, and general supplies as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support team objectives.

Shift Information

This position requires a night shift, with a commitment to providing holiday coverage. Candidates should be willing and able to work through the upcoming holiday season with minimal requests for time off (RTO).

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington State.
• Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience in MedSurg and PCU settings.
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS/BCLS required.
