Staff Tax Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our growing tax team based out of our Hanover, MD location. This role provides the opportunity to build a strong foundation in accounting and tax compliance while working closely with experienced professionals. You will play a key role in supporting tax filings, audits, and day-to-day accounting functions. Responsibilities Prepare, review and file personal filing tax returns for multiple states, counties, and municipalities. Reconcile asset information between accounting records, fixed asset systems, and property tax filings. Maintain accurate property tax calendars to ensure timely completion of filings and payments. Support property tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing schedules, and coordinating responses. Prepare and ensure timely completion of sales and use tax returns. Support the monthly sales and use tax cycle. Develop an understanding of tax-exempt certificates across various jurisdictions. Provide assistance with internal and external sales and use tax audits. Collaborate with and support the Tax Team on projects and reporting needs. Qualifications Background Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Experience) Bachelor’s Degree in Tax, Accounting, or related Field 2-4 years sales and use tax experience with multiple jurisdictions preferred. Construction experience a plus.
