Manual Machinist

We are seeking an experienced and dependable Manual Machinist to join a manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating manual machining equipment and be able to produce precision parts according to blueprints, specifications, and customer requirements.

Job Responsibilities

• Operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, and other machining equipment.
• Set up and operate machines to produce precision parts and components.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and machining specifications.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and work-holding devices.
• Measure and inspect finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and measuring tools.
• Perform turning, milling, drilling, boring, threading, and other machining operations.
• Make machine adjustments to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and routine maintenance on machining equipment.
• Maintain accurate measurements and production records.
• Inspect work throughout the machining process to identify defects or dimensional issues.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Manual Machinist required.
• Strong understanding of manual machining processes and equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring equipment.
• Strong knowledge of machining tolerances and dimensions.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to perform basic shop math and measurements.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Reliable attendance and dependable work ethic.

Preferred Skills

• Experience machining steel, aluminum, stainless steel, or other metals.
• Experience working with tight tolerances.
• Knowledge of tooling and cutting speeds/feeds.
• Welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
• Previous manufacturing or industrial experience preferred.
