Chief Inspector

Chief InspectorH&H is seeking a Chief Inspector to join the firm's Construction Services Division. This position is responsible for overseeing construction inspection activities on major highway and transportation projects throughout the New York Metropolitan Area. The successful candidate will lead inspection teams, ensure compliance with contract requirements, and support the delivery of high-quality construction projects through effective field oversight, documentation, and quality assurance.The ideal candidate will have extensive experience on major roadway and expressway projects, including concrete pavement repairs, asphalt milling and paving, pavement markings, drainage improvements, utility protection, and related highway construction activities.H&H is a nationally recognized, full-service infrastructure engineering firm delivering innovative solutions that move communities forward. At H&H, you'll join a firm that is building on its legacy by aligning expertise, expanding opportunity, and positioning itself for long-term, sustainable growth.ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise construction inspection teams on highway and transportation projectsReview contract documents, including plans, specifications, and project requirements, to ensure compliance during constructionDevelop and assign inspection work tasks based on project scope, schedule, and construction activitiesVerify that inspectors understand applicable plans, specifications, details, and requirements for assigned workReview inspectors' field performance to ensure construction inspection services are performed accurately and effectivelyReview daily inspection reports for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation of work activities and quantitiesCoordinate with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders to support successful project deliveryMaintain accurate project records and documentation to support quality, safety, and compliance objectivesVerify that material certifications are submitted, reviewed, and accepted in accordance with contract requirementsEnsure required field testing and material sampling activities are performed and documented appropriatelyMonitor Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) and Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) operations to ensure proper setup, maintenance, and removal throughout construction activitiesAssist the Engineer-in-Charge and Resident Engineer with contract administration and project oversight activities
