Data Center Technician

Salary: $142,000 - 182,000 per year Requirements:

• We are looking for a high school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications such as BICSI or CompTIA Network+ are an advantage.
• We need experience installing and maintaining low voltage cabling and networking equipment, ideally in a data center setting.
• We require proficiency with cable testing tools and network hardware.
• We expect a strong grasp of industry standards such as ANSI/TIA/EIA and BICSI.
• You should be able to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Familiarity with power distribution units and server rack layouts is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting ability and close attention to detail are essential.
• We value the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in physically demanding environments, including confined spaces and elevated areas.
• Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed is required.
• Experience with hyper-scale data centers is preferred.
• Experience with structured cabling systems is preferred.

• We will install, terminate, and test low voltage cabling, including Cat5e/6/6A, fiber optic, and coaxial lines in data center environments.
• We will mount and install networking hardware such as routers, switches, patch panels, and firewalls in server racks.
• We will manage cabling, labeling, and patching while ensuring work follows established standards and best practices.
• We will troubleshoot and resolve issues with low voltage cabling and networking equipment, carrying out tests and inspections to verify performance.
• We will work closely with data center engineers, electricians, and other team members to coordinate installations and upgrades.
• We will read and interpret technical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• We will maintain strict safety and security standards by following all data center protocols and guidelines.
• We will keep accurate records of installations, updates, and repairs.
• We will stay current on industry trends and technologies related to low voltage systems and networking hardware.
