Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:
This position is for a Labor and Delivery/OB nurse working night shifts from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. The role requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in obstetrics, including obstetric floor, couplet care, and hysterectomy patient care. The nurse must possess travel experience and be adaptable to working in a fast-paced obstetric environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including couplet care for mother and newborn.
• Manage patients with hysterectomy and other surgical procedures, utilizing basic med-surg skills.
• Monitor fetal well-being through fetal monitoring, following OB protocols and standards.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes across obstetric services.
• Document patient care accurately in electronic medical records and adhere to safety guidelines.
• Float within hospital units as needed, providing support across various obstetric beds and triage areas.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid state or compact RN license at the time of submission.
• Possess at least 3 years' obstetric nursing experience, including antepartum, L&D, and postpartum.
• Maintain current BLS, FHM, NRP, and AWHONN certifications; STABLE preferred.
• Demonstrate proficiency in fetal monitoring and obstetric patient care.
• Have EPIC experience; previous use of EPIC at the last facility preferred.
• Provide two professional references from supervisory roles within the past two years.
