Shift Manager – McDonald’s (independent franchisee) This position is within a restaurant owned and operated by an independent franchisee. The franchisee is the employer and is solely responsible for hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA has no control over employment matters. Responsibilities Managers lead shifts each week, ensuring customers receive a fast, accurate, and friendly experience. The Shift Manager provides leadership to crew and other managers, enforcing quality, service, and cleanliness standards. Key duties include: Planning for each shift Monitoring performance during the shift Taking corrective action to meet McDonald’s standards Monitoring safety, security, and profitability Communicating with the next Shift Manager to facilitate seamless transitions Helping departments meet targets and goals As a Shift Manager, You May Be Responsible For Food Safety Internal Communication Inventory Management Daily Maintenance and Cleanliness Managing Crew Quality Food Production Exceptional Customer Service Safety and Security Scheduling Training Qualifications Previous leadership experience is preferred, ideally within a restaurant, retail, or hospitality environment. Must be 18 years or older. Positive team player with a flexible schedule and a passion for the fast‑paced McDonald’s environment.
