Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse for a 13-week contract assignment in Bethel, Alaska. This role involves providing comprehensive patient care across the lifespan, from neonates to the elderly, within a dynamic healthcare setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, collaborating closely with an interdisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. This position requires a commitment to age-specific and culturally sensitive care, serving as a vital resource within the clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through the complete nursing process: assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
• Direct and coordinate nursing care for patients in accordance with established nursing practice standards.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to ensure quality, cost-effective, and efficient care, striving for the best possible patient outcomes.
• Serve as a clinical resource person when situations require specialized knowledge or guidance.
• Apply age-specific considerations and cultural diversity principles when providing patient care.
• Administer treatments and medications as prescribed.
• Interpret diagnostic tests and integrate findings into patient care plans.
• Provide comprehensive education to patients, families, and significant others regarding health conditions and care plans.
• Supervise Unit Secretaries and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) in collaboration with the Charge Nurse.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from an NLN-approved program of education in nursing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a healthcare setting.
