Electrical Technician (Temporary)

Express Employment Professionals of LAX/Hawthorne is seeking an Temporary Electrical Technician for a manufacturing company LAX.

Hours : 8A-5:30P Mon-Fri (must be able to work weekends with a rotating schedule)

Pay Rate : $27-$30/hr

Job Description for Electrical Technician Position :

• Makes necessary repairs and performs preventative, corrective and predictive maintenance on a wide variety of Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Servos, Networks, and other I/O devices.
• Maintain, install, repair and troubleshoot the following devices: Safety relays, safety controllers, light curtains, safety locks. Servo-Drives and Servomotors
• Plans new or modified installations from written or verbal directions to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
• Makes necessary repairs of electrical equipment in compliance with safety and code requirements.
• Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
• Installs electrical equipment to comply with safety and code requirements.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit.

Qualifications :

Must have a thorough understanding of commercial / industrial electrical practices and procedures for 110/220/480 VAC.

• Preferred knowledge of the following: o PLC programming in ladder logic for Siemens Simatic and Yokogawa PLCs. o High-performance vacuum furnaces, auto-claves and hydro-claves. o Ethernet/IP networking for, PLC--I/O-VFD. o Servomotors/drives
• Must be able to perform electrical installations in machine panels, on machine components and throughout the furnace from machine to machine or from main distribution panels to machines.
• Must be able to perform mechanical work like replacing OEM parts, motors, gearboxes, bearings, or other mechanical components.
• Must be able to speak, read and write

Education :

• Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; and a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.
• Frequently is required to stand and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Occasionally required to walk, sit, and climb or balance.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
