Quality Control Manager

AbbVie seeks a Quality Control Manager in Tempe, AZ to oversee laboratory operations across API, finished goods, or raw materials. The role involves leading a large team, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing budgets, and directing strategic research and testing activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage team of lab supervisors and analysts; hire, develop, and mentor staff
- Ensure compliance with FDA, EU, and corporate regulations; interact with regulators
- Direct operations to meet production objectives within budgeted resources
- Design and execute research projects aligned with strategic business needs
- Conduct testing on raw materials, intermediates, APIs, and finished goods; prepare technical reports
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science with 8+ years relevant experience, or Master's with 6+ years, or PhD with 4+ years
- Advanced technical expertise in laboratory operations and quality control
- Knowledge of product quality, QC lab operations, and regulatory requirements
- Personnel management and budget development skills
- Ability to design and execute complex research programs independently
- Strong interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders
