NATIVE AMERICAN SPIRITUAL LEADER

Position NATIVE AMERICAN SPIRITUAL LEADER Location: Kern County – North Kern State Prison Compensation: $5,743.00 – $7,541.00 per month. Term: 12‑month limited term, eligible for extension up to 24 months or permanent. Reports to: Community Resource Manager (CRM) D.O.C. Responsibilities Provide spiritual and moral guidance to incarcerated persons. Conduct spiritual ceremonies and sacred religious rituals. Instruct staff and inmates on Native American history, culture, and religious practices. Maintain good standing with Native American tribe, nation, band, or rancheria. Minimum Qualifications Current recognition as a spiritual leader in good standing with a Native American tribe, nation, band, or rancheria; will need to provide a letter of good standing. Ability to work at least 40 hours per week in a correctional facility. Valid email address for communication. Background investigation, live scan fingerprinting, and tuberculosis testing required. Desirable Qualifications Experience in a correctional or rehabilitation environment. Commitment to inclusive workplace practices.
